Beneath the Lock Fishing Derby returns


The thirty fifth annual Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) Beneath the Lock Fishing Derby returns to Peterborough this weekend with 3,000 stocked trout, 500 tagged fish, and greater than $35,000 in prizes.

“The three,000 trout that we stocked yesterday are hungry and able to chew on Saturday morning for the youth derby,” OFAH Outreach Packages Supervisor David Ryrie said in a launch. “Every brook trout caught wins a prize, plus a sizzling canine lunch for the youth. Sunday morning could have much more possibilities to win with 35 sponsored tagged rainbow trout added value a complete of $7,000 in money for anglers of all ages to win.”

The nine-day-event launches with the Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and continues with an All Ages Fishing Derby till Sunday, Could 5 at 5 p.m. The Excessive Faculty Fishing Derby will run Could 1 from 7 a.m. to three p.m (All Ages Fishing will probably be suspended throughout this time). Grand prizes embody $1,000, $5,000, and two $250 prizes, plus OFAH summer time day camp enrolment. Different prizes embody fishing rods and sort out, tenting gear, a mountain bike, and extra, due to the donations of native companies.

Registration required

Registration is required and may be paid both prematurely or on website. Money, debit, and credit score are accepted. Registration is $15 per baby (ages 15 and youthful) and $10 for every subsequent baby registered with the primary. Grownup registration is $25 for anybody ages 16 and above. Creel restrict is 2 fish per day.
