Luck was on my aspect after I was capable of be part of a latest Nat Hab journey to Costa Rica! As many within the conservation area know, Costa Rica has lengthy been hailed as a conservation success story, and my journey to this Central American paradise solely served to underscore that reality.
From its lush rainforests to its gorgeous seashores, Costa Rica is a nature lover’s dream come true.

Upon my arrival in San Jose, I used to be instantly struck by the nation’s pure magnificence and the heat of its folks. All through our journey, we had the prospect to discover a few of Costa Rica’s most iconic landscapes, from the misty cloud forests of Monteverde to the canals of Tortuguero.
10 Days in Costa Rica
The primary half of our journey was spent adventuring by way of the steamy and tropical canals of Tortuguero Nationwide Park, adopted by invigorating hikes in Corcovado Nationwide Park. (Enjoyable reality: WWF helped create the park in 1975!)
We encountered an abundance of wildlife in each nationwide parks, to the purpose that it will be easier for me to say what we didn’t see. However, after all, it’s extra enjoyable to crow about what we did spot. Amongst all of the unimaginable wildlife we noticed, my favorites had been the howler monkeys, toucans and wattled jacanas.

We spent the second half of our journey within the mountainous area and cloud forests. With a significantly drier and cooler local weather, we spent days immersing ourselves in data in regards to the native vegetation, wildlife and birdlife, and the Arenal Volcano.
Undoubtedly, the head of the journey for a lot of in our group was the exhilarating second after we noticed the uncommon and elusive resplendent quetzal. It remained perched for greater than half-hour, permitting us to witness (and {photograph}) its presence in awe.

Conservation in Costa Rica
Studying about Costa Rica’s dedication to renewable power, reforestation and sustainable tourism provided optimism and hope for our pure world. As I bid farewell to Costa Rica, I felt an immense sense of gratitude for all that’s been performed to protect this stunning biodiversity hotspot—in addition to a deep sense of duty to proceed the work that I do at World Wildlife Fund and encourage these round me to interact in our pure world.
I’m assured that our experiences and adventures throughout this 10-day journey will function a catalyst for continued conservation efforts whereas inspiring others to hitch us in safeguarding the dear locations round our magnificent planet.
