Dr Paul Luckin is an anaesthetist with a really distinctive background.

As an authority on human survivability, he’s a medical advisor to the Police Search and Rescue groups and the Australian Maritime Security Authority (AMSA), offering time-frames for human survival throughout Search and Rescue operations.

He teaches the medical facets of Search and Rescue and is on the directing employees of the Nationwide Police Search and Rescue Managers Course.

A humble and extremely educated specialist clinician and knowledgeable in search and rescue, he has served as a Captain within the Royal Australian Naval Reserve in Bougainville, East Timor, within the Resuscitation and Retrieval Staff for the victims of the primary Bali bombing, and within the first overseas medical workforce into Banda Aceh following the 2004 tsunami, and far, far more.

In 2015, he was made a Member of the Order of Australia, AM, for important service to the group via emergency drugs, and he joins me right here partly 1 of our dialog, episode 13.
